LI ROWFO Alchemist Faction

Quick History:

Li Siuwai Rowfro, the child of the respected Alchemist Engineer Nie Xiaoqian Rowfro, spent his childhood attempting to live up to the expectations of his esteemed mother. Although his mother died young, in a construction accident, this only inspired Li to strive even harder to be the best.

Li entered Great Gear Academy in Gyranfryll Wabe as a prodigy at the age of only 13, and quickly outstripped his peers in most classes. However, when Li's mother died when he was 15, Li developed emotional problems. Committed to outshining his mother, possibly as a tribute to her,Li worked himself too hard, and began to suffer sleep deprivation. This condition redered Li open to a minor breakdown, which culminated in a campus brawl that nearly left another promising student dead, and blind in one eye.

This event, though unpleasant, drew attention to Li, including the attention of the Council, who at the time were scouting for Alchemists and Wiccans that might have enough ability, and independence to be useful within the innermost ranks of the 'Colony Project'. Rowfro was considered because he not only had educational top honors, but had displayed a 'fighting spirit' that seemed to set him apart. Placed increasingly in positions related to construction of materials, and eventually secret mechanisms for the Arkships, Li was choosen for the 'C' ark by Thilia herself, within the last few months of work.

Li is a quiet man, but inside he can seeth with frustration or anger. Occasionally this can come out. Li loves machines, and was eager to get to work on the more fulfilling construction involved in the Colony Project. A bit of a loner, Li is highly intelligent but somewhat socially unsure. Secretly, Li has a fascination with philosophy, and has made a quiet study of both Jellese and Wiccan beliefs.

OGAN ENTON Alchemist Faction

OSSPERK ERKINS Alchemist Faction

Quick History:

Ogan and Ossperk met in Little Gear Academy, as members of the Academy band. Both shared a love of music, and both could play several instruments including the Gryrnese Bolso. Becoming best friends, the two were inseperable through much of Academy, but somehow drifted apart for two years, when Ogan had to return to his home in Pembletown to take care of his dying grandfather.

Ossperk, a native of Gyranfryll, became known as a very dependable and capable general function Alchemist, and was constantly shuttled about through many jobs, including both manufacture and clerical work. It was in the latter capacity that Ossperk managed to put a little too much of what was actually going on behind the ruse of the 'Colony Project' and reported this information to his superiors. This presented a problem, which might well have been solved by shipping the unfortunate Oss out as a Arkbase slave worker...except for a chance meeting he had once had with Zheni Ryulen, a woman that one day would become the lover and partner of Thilia Lilinffylst, eventually the head of the Gryrnese Council. Ossperk had somehow impressed Zheni, and she managed to remember his name...so that one night, in bed with Thilia -who was finishing up a list of who to ship out, who to have killed, and who to promote- Zheni saw, and pointed out Ossperk on the list.

This chance event saved Ossperk from doom as an Arkbase slave, so instead, on Zheni's recommendation, Ossperk was reassigned to the exclusive manufacture of Arkship components. Ogan Enton came back into Ossperk's life, when Oss was asked if he could suggest anyone who might be useful to the project. Wanting to save his friend from whatever was about to happen that required the development of secret ark-ships, Ossperk immediately had Ogan signed up.

It was very difficult for Ossperk to remain silent about what he knew in dealing with his friend, but he understood that he had to, and also had to encourage Ogan to be successful enough that he would become a prime candidate for Arkship recruitment. This was made especially difficult, because the slow death of Ogan's grandfather had taken a toll on the young man, causing him to reevaluate his life, thus becoming rather disaffected. However, with encouragement and effort, and eventually breaking his silence in a safe manner, Ossperk managed to help his friend and himself to a position on the 'C' Ark in the roles of cargo and steerage adminstration.

Ogan Enton is a somewhat moody, but intelligent man, who feels a strong connection with both land and farming. This is in opposition to his postion as an Alchemist. Ossperk Erkins is even more intelligent, but much more lighthearted, and quite enjoys being an Alchemist. Both enjoy music, games -especially Taasen- and generally act in a goodhearted manner. They are a little unlucky at times, but are known to be trustworthy and dependable.

YLLA ORORUGI Wiccan Faction Specialist Farmer

Quick History:

Ylla Semalda Ororugi was raised to be a farmer, and farming, especially the management and breedng of livestock, is what she does best. A multi-time winner of many Animal Fair livestock competitions, she is especially famed for her prized breeding of Bosom Sows, the milk-producing swine of the Gryrnese.

Ylla was encouraged to be the best by her father, Owel Ororugi, who taught her that all the world depends on the farmer...for without agriculture, there is no civilization. Ylla loves milk, and because of this, focused on the source of milk, the Bosom Sow.

From her farm in Ponsbury, Ylla drew the attentions of the Council, searching for the best of the best to fill slots on the crews of the Arkships. As one of the most successful breeders, Ylla was in the front running for recruitment, and indeed was recruited for Arkship duty, shortly after the very last Animal Fair.

Ylla is a friendly, perky woman who is well liked by people and animals, and who is known as both resilient and competent. Ylla is good at sewing and cooking, and overall is highly domestic.

VOLA ERETSE Wiccan Faction Medical Specialist

Quick History:

Vola Eretse, born on Flame Island to greedy and shallow resort managers, was put to work at a young age attending resort visitors. This made the young Vola very unhappy, as did her shallow and simpleminded sister Horla, her shallow and simpleminded brothers Molu and Pota, and pretty much everything else around her. Vola was not a happy camper.

Being the only truly intelligent member of her family, Vola was scouted at a young age by a Gryranfryll Wiccan Academy Recruiter, and Vola's parents saw this as a way to have a highly paid Healer in the family. Without even a say in the matter, Vola was packed off to Gryranfryll Wabe to become a Wiccan Faction Healer.

The unpleasant and shallow life Vola suffered at the Flame Island resort was soon replaced by the rigid and annoying, overly complicated life of Wiccan Academy. Vola was not a happy camper.

 Somehow or another, Vola managed to graduate with top honors, where for the first time in her life, she felt that she could finally be the master of her own destiny. As a Wiccan Healer with a prime degree, Vola understood that she could hope to enjoy her own practice, great social and legal latitude, the ability to afford to ignore her parents, and anyone else who annoyed her, and ultimately to make her life into something decent.

Immediately she managed financing for her own clinic, thanks to her greedy and simple parents, who had amassed a respectable fortune from their resort. Buying a large, multistory, octagonal house that once belonged to a famous past great Healer of Gryranffryl Wabe, Vola began to outfit her new property, finally happy at last.

Two months later, she was forcibly recruited to be the Medical Wiccan for the 'C' ark because apparently, the world was coming to an end.

AKI ENSHI Wiccan Adminstrator

Quick History:

Growing up in the government center of Gryrnu, Gryranfryll Wabe was an adventure for the young Aki Enshi. because her parents were clerical adminstrators for the government, Aki had a natural in to becoming an adminstrator too. Graduating from Moon Pond with an award for mathematical excellence, Aki was soon posted to the support staff of the Council themselves. Aki was particularly noted by Thilia Lilinffylst, the Madame Council, because of her great efficiency, and also because Aki always brough Thilia her tea just right. Aki often felt sorry for Thilia, because the Madame Council always seemed to be in the middle of endless feuding between the two factions. Aki figured that if even one thing could work out, say tea in the afternoon, it might be a great kindness.

In the end, the fact that Aki brought Thilia tea that was always hot, served with a toasted plum bun, every day, perfectly, ultimately saved her life. Aki was not better, or worse, than any other member of the Council support staff, but she did toast Thilia's buns just right.

Clearly, in life, it is often who you are nice too that matters.
